Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj Cheesin

This track with Chris Brown in my opinion is really tight. It’s good to see that he hasn’t given up on his career despite the landmines thrown in his way as a result of his altercation with his ex-girlfriend Rhianna.

I’m not yet a fan of Nicki Minaj as a solo artist, but I do think she’s pretty cute on the various tracks I’ve heard her on but I am really looking forward to hearing some more of her stuff to see what if any range she has.

But peep this track and weigh in on if we should use it or lose it!

Purple Melon Playing At The Viper Room Hollywood, CA

I was invited to attend the performance of British band Purple Melon on the Hollywood leg of their current tour. And while typically I am not drawn to that particular kind of music I will they they had it on LOCK!

I got to sit down with the four members of the band being Eric Joyce (Bass), Tom Hill (Vocals/Keys), Jason Ganberg (Drums), and Owen Barry (Guitar) and had a great conversation. I had to keep it short as they were shooting an episode of MySpace TV’s “If I Can Dream” with the band.

I was able to find out that the band had been together for three years and were formed in London. Oddly enough there were only four members of the band. When I asked about this I was informed that each member of the band puts in an extra 25% effort so that makes up for the lack of the fifth member.

Purple Melon while currently unsigned have been shown a great amount of interest from the various labels, so it’s just a matter of time before they’re rocking arenas the world over!

With a sound very much like Beatles meet Wings meets Led Zepplin Purple Melon is a thrill to watch on stage. I had not heard their material previously and I will say I’m now a Purple Melon convert. You can catch up with Purple Melon on Facebook by clicking HERE

Yesterday, I had the privilege to interview the one of the most beautiful women in the world Hugh Hefner’s girlfriend Crystal Harris.

Fellas, she is not just another pretty face, she’s accomplished, successful and has talent too. Having a few moments with her between photo shoots I was able to find out a little bit more about what she’s up to with her latest ventures.

Crystal just signed a 7 album contract with award-winning music producer Michael Blakey of Organica Music Group. She was discovered singing on tv by Blakey’s wife while she was watching an episode of season 6 “Girls Next Door.”

Influenced by her father Ray Harris, a rock singer, she took one of his unpublished love songs “Say what you want” and turned it into a motivational dance tune. Her new single she is working on with Jordan McGraw, Dr. Phil’s son will be released in 2 weeks at the end of July in the new musical genre Crystal coined as “Playmate Pop.”

Asking her how this all this came to be she said it simply began with her picture submission to a Halloween party at the Playboy mansion before she graduated college.  She was accepted and once she met Hef the rest is history. Within a few weeks she was living in the mansion in November then she shot the December 2009 issue of Playboy which skyrocketed her to Playmate status.

She now has her hands completely full, singing, modeling, and a new cosmetics line for women all on the horizon. When I asked her if she had one message she would want the public to know what would it be. She sweetly answered, “Anything is possible.”

Although Luther Vandross was an accomplished songwriter who penned songs for himself and artists like Aretha Franklin, he was also loved for his ability to reinterpret songs that we all knew and loved.

This talent put him in a league with singers like Frank Sinatra and Isaac Hayes who were loved for their ability to make you think that they were the first person to sing those songs.

WORLD PREMIERE MAROON 5 VIDEO “MISERY”

“Misery” is the first single from Maroon 5’s forthcoming album “Hands All Over” on A&M/Octone. In addition to the video premiere, Maroon 5 is slated to be VH1’s POSTED artist for September.

“Misery,” the debut single from the band’s new album, impacted radio this week and has already taken flight. The song was the #1 most added at Hot AC and the #2 most added track at Top 40 radio. “Misery” received OVER 120 adds out of the box and has an audience approaching 10 million just days after its release.

“It was great to be back on set with the guys again,” said Maroon 5’s frontman Adam Levine. “Everyone in the band really dug the concept and it was fun working with director Joseph Kahn. I am looking forward to our fans getting to check it out!”

Directed by famed director, Joseph Kahn, the video features lead singer Adam Levine in misery over a relationship gone awry. The action packed tongue-and-cheek video features the object of Levine’s affection throwing knives at him, hitting him with a car and throwing him off a building. Despite being a bit disheveled, Levine continues to try to stick out the relationship.

“It’s a subversive way to show sexy vulnerability to Adam’s personality, with a masculine strength in the way he handles misery,” says Kahn. “There is nothing a girl can dish out he can’t take. It’s eye catching and fun.”

In addition to the video premiere, Maroon 5 has also been selected as VH1’s POSTED artist for September. POSTED, posted.vh1.com, is a new cross channel digital franchise that provides music fans with a singular destination to find social media updates, videos, news and photos of their favorite artists.
