Elle Magazine Controversy over Gabourey Sidibe Cover! REALLY?

The 25th Anniversary issue of Elle magazine has 4 different covers, each one showing someone on their list of 25 notable women under 25. The covers show Megan Fox, Amanda Seyfried, Gabourey Sidibe, and Lauren Conrad. Sidibe is actually 27, but that’s the least of Elle’s problems.
As you can see, the covers for Fox, Conrad and Seyfried show body shots, while Sidibes is more of a close up. And some, like this blog, are also saying Elle lightened her skin.
In Elles defense, it’s easy to find pictures of Sidibe at different events where she looks lighter or darker, for whatever reason. They also put Alek Wek on their cover, twice, and that chick is black as night.
As far as not showing Sidibes body, are you serious right now? Of course they didn’t. If they had to have a black girl they should have gotten Zoe Saldana. Or Meagan Good. K.D. Aubert is absolutely awesome, put her on there and everybody wins.
Sidibe shouldn’t be anywhere near Elle. It’s a fashion magazine celebrating beauty, and she in no way fits the standard bill of ELLE’s typical standards for models. The fact is, ELLE put a black woman on the cover. We can all look at her and KNOW she’s black, shut up and give kudos for the fact that they REALLY stepped outside the box on this one and with Sidibe.
People always seem to need to find SOMETHING to complain about. And the reality of the situation is what is Sidibe really known for? ONE film? Yes people Hollywood does indeed have their one hit wonders as well. This entire situation is ludicrously ridiculous! All things being fair Sidibe is rather out of her league here.
Megan Fox has several movies under her belt as does Amanda Seyfried. Lauren Conrad had five seasons on MTV’s hit scripted reality show the Hills. I’m sorry but I don’t think that ONE movie qualifies one for an Elle cover let alone all this hub bub about it! But maybe that’s just ME!

As you may know yesterday we posted the story about the gorgeous Megan Fox being fired from Transformers 3 by super director Michael Bay.
Well now Megan is trying to tranform (Pun TOTALLY intended!) the rumor into fact by having her reps state that the 24 year old actress who found her real fame and popularity from the Transformers movies was not actually fired! Instead they are saying that the actress QUIT!
I don’t know let me see, you apparently liken your boss to being a Napolean or Hitler and then think you’re still going to have a job? I don’t know. It seems like sort of a stretch even to me! Not to mention that to date Transformers is the ONLY films the actress has been in that has seen any notable success. Maybe if she’d really gotten naked and let us get a good look box office sales might have been better. It worked for Cindy Crawford (Fair Game 1995)

But no matter, it is rumored that Michael Bay is casting a new love interest for Shia LaBeouf character of Sam Witwicki, and that actress is rumored to be Gemma Arterton, of St. Trinian, and Quantum Of Solace fame! No mud slinging on our part but Megan Fox is so way hotter!
Transformers 3 is scheduled for a July 2011 release!
Megan Fox FIRED From Transformers 3

Mega Fox fired from Transformers 3
Megan compared her director to “Hitler” and “Napoleon” during an interview with Britain’s Wonderland Magazine’s October 2009 issue.
“He’s like Napoleon and he wants to create this insane, infamous mad-man reputation,” Megan said at the time.
“He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is,” she continued. “So he’s a nightmare to work for but when you get him away from set, and he’s not in director mode, I kind of really enjoy his personality because he’s so awkward, so hopelessly awkward.”
Shortly thereafter, members of the “Transformers” crew posted an open letter on the director’s site, condemning the actress for her behavior on set, calling Megan, “the grump of the set,” as well as “thankless, classless, graceless” and “unfriendly.”
The letter was quickly removed and Michael eventually addressed all the comments a short while later.
“I don’t condone the crew letter to Megan. And I don’t condone Megan’s outlandish quotes,” Bay wrote in a blog post on his official Web site. “But her crazy quips are part of her crazy charm. The fact of the matter I still love working with her, and I know we still get along. I even expect more crazy quotes from her on Transformers 3.”
“Transformers 3″ has reportedly already begun filming.
But really Megan, if the letter written by the crew was true why would she behave like that? Sure she’s gorgeous and all but then so are 10 MILLION other women who would kill, have sex with anyone if they could be in her place.
Transformers MADE her and she hasn’t had a successful project yet since then. We’re of course waiting for Jonah Hex to come out and we’ll see.
Hopefully she’ll pull her head out and pull it together and get back on the cast, because I for one do enjoy watching her on screen and she’d been through a lot already.
