The Crew Chief is the team’s head honcho. And the High Speed Magazine crew chief is Will Rivers. It is he who organizes the operation. Will Rivers serves as the DJ’s representative in the shop. Will is the one who oversees everything, including ordering equipment, materials, hiring personnel, and organizing the layouts of each issue of the magazine.

He works from his own experience, knowing how readers have reacted in the past to various content at different times. The crew chief tells each of the workers under him the specifications for doing their jobs, both at the shop and in the field.

Will also determines how the books are built, how the pages, layouts, models and ads are adjusted. Even down to how many pages each issue contains, even what images and models make each issue — everything. Will answers only to one person. And that is DJ Foothill.
